Students in first grade learned about non-fiction features recently and then created a diagram in Kid Pix. Together we watched a BrainPOP Jr. movie about forests and students created their own diagram of a forest. They painted the background picture, added appropriate forest stickers, labeled at least three things in the diagrams, connected the labels to the item with a line, made a large title, and finally placed their name in a corner. Check them out! Room 102

Students in both 1st grade classrooms created digital paintings of various computer parts using Kid Pix software. They chose an item to create after watching a BrainPOP Jr about computers. In Kid Pix, students practiced mouse use (clicking, double-clicking, click-and-drag), adding and typing text, and the computer functions of printing and quitting the software. Room 106 Room 102 |
