Use Google thoughtfully!
All public search engines, including Google, are pretty similar. You try different keywords, read the links carefully, and select the ones you think will be most relevant to your question or topic. If you are using a public search engine, you have to go through some extra effort to evaluate the sites you find. That means checking to make sure the information is up to date and accurate. Some sites will be irrelevant or contain biased, out of date, or even harmful information.

Use Wikipedia with CAUTION!
Wikipedia is in its own category. It's a wiki, which means anyone can edit it. That means the information on Wikipedia may or may not be true. Don't believe it? Read their disclaimer for yourself! Wikipedia can help you find some useful keywords or refine your questions, and it can be a helpful source for unusual topics -- but anything you read on Wikipedia should be verified elsewhere. (That means read critically! Check out the information somewhere else to make sure it is true.) If you want to learn more about how wikis work, watch this video by CommonCraft.
