An 8th grade student created this documentary about the Sobremesa Supper Club for the Adobe Youth Voices program. Sobremesa Supper Club Here is her artist statement: "My project is a documentary about a supper club in Chicago that hosts dinners in the owners’ own house. I want people to know about this sort of independent business, because I’ve recently noticed how big companies control so many chain stores and restaurants, and I believe that small/local businesses should be given a better chance at success. Sobremesa Supper Club is a perfect example. My project is targeted mostly at adults, since that is the age group that usually enjoys fine-dining the most (and because they have the money to pay). I made this documentary based on my own ideas and by going with my instinct in every aspect: deciding the topic, the backgrounds for interviews, the questions, etc. I felt very satisfied with my project because, though it was my first time making a film, I thought it sent the message that I had hoped it would."
