After reading Not a Box by Antoinette Portis, first graders created drawings in KidPix, starting with a simple rectangular box shape. Students also photographed one another sitting inside an enormous cardboard box. Those photos then became the basis for a second set of imaginative drawings. Finally, we assembled both sets of drawings, added narration, titles, and music, and created this video. We hope it inspires you to use your imagination too!

Kindergarten students learned about how digital cameras work and practiced using them to take photographs. We also discussed photography and how photos are commonly taken to record memories, but that photographs can also be a form of art. With these photos below, students are showcasing interesting shapes and textures from around the Media Center.
First graders practiced active listening strategies while watching a BrainPOP Jr. movie and took one important takeaway from the movie to share with each other. The informational paintings were created in Kid Pix.
8th graders in Rooms 203 and 205 spent some time creating full-length songs in Garageband. They focused on creating a structure within their song, having repeating elements throughout, and transitioning between sounds fluidly. Visit the page by clicking the image below to listen to all of them!
Posts below are from the 2013-2014 school year. Students in 7th and 8th grades worked both in Technology classes and put in many extra hours after school to complete stop-motion animations for the Adobe Youth Voices program. Below you will find the animation as well as the group's artist statement for their project. Enjoy! Bamboo |
